Message text: Offsetting Wage Type is ONLY for SMP'able or SSP'able abs. grouping
You tried to enter a wage type in the field 'Offsetting Wage Type'
while the absence grouping (absence subtype category) does not allow
it. The absence grouping is NOT SMP'able or SSP'able and so does not
require an 'Offsetting Wage Type'.
The entry of a wage type is rejected.
Check your absence grouping and your offsetting wage type: If the first
character of the absence catagory is '.', (i.e. not SSP'able or
SMP'able) then an Offsetting Wage Type IS NOT required.
If the absence is SSP'able or SMP'able, (i.e. 'S' or 'M') an entry in
this field IS required.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Go to the configuration settings for the absence type in question. Ensure that the absence type is correctly set up to allow for the use of the offsetting wage type.
- Verify that the absence type is indeed classified as SMP or SSP if you intend to use an offsetting wage type that is restricted to these categories.
Review Wage Type Configuration:
- Check the configuration of the wage type being used. Ensure that it is set up correctly for the intended purpose and that it is compatible with the absence type.
- If the wage type is not meant for SMP or SSP, consider using a different wage type that is appropriate for the absence being processed.
Adjust Absence Grouping:
- If the absence is not meant to be classified as SMP or SSP, you may need to adjust the absence grouping or the way the absence is being recorded to avoid using the restricted wage type.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP HCM functional consultant to ensure that you are following the correct procedures for handling absences and wage types.
