  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRPIQ000130 - Cannot delete/change re-registration; related data exists ?

The SAP error message HRPIQ000130 indicates that there is an issue with attempting to delete or change a re-registration in the SAP system because related data exists. This typically occurs in the context of personnel administration or employee management, particularly when dealing with infotypes related to employee records.

    Cause:

The error is triggered when you try to delete or modify a re-registration record (such as a change in employee status, position, or other relevant data) that is linked to other records or infotypes. The system prevents this action to maintain data integrity, as there are dependencies that must be respected.

Common Scenarios Leading to This Error:

    1. Existing Related Infotypes: There are other infotypes (like IT0000, IT0001, IT0002, etc.) that reference the re-registration you are trying to change or delete.
    2. Open Processes: There may be ongoing processes or workflows that are dependent on the data you are trying to modify.
    3. Data Consistency: The system is designed to ensure that all related data remains consistent and valid, hence it restricts changes that could lead to inconsistencies.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Related Infotypes: Review the employee's infotype records to identify any related entries that might be causing the issue. You can do this by using transaction codes like PA20 (Display HR Master Data) or PA30 (Maintain HR Master Data).

    2. Identify Dependencies: Look for any dependencies or linked records that might be preventing the deletion or change. This could include:

      • Employment status
      • Organizational assignments
      • Payroll data
      • Benefits or compensation records
    3. Delete or Change Related Records: If you find related records that are no longer needed, you may need to delete or modify those first before attempting to change or delete the re-registration.

    4. Consult with HR or IT: If you are unsure about which records are related or how to proceed, consult with your HR department or IT support team. They may have additional insights or tools to help you resolve the issue.

    5. Use Transaction Codes: Utilize transaction codes like PA40 (Personnel Actions) to perform the necessary actions in a structured manner.

    6. Check for Workflows: Ensure that there are no active workflows that are dependent on the data you are trying to change. If there are, you may need to complete or cancel those workflows first.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any specific patches or updates related to this error message. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions for common issues.
