  • What causes this issue?

Each record in the RMS (
    <DS:GLOS.5CF3FCDB46F61ED681B30D9E90C5CC4F>Report Management System</>),
    identified by type, personnel assignment,
    <DS:GLOS.5CF3FCDB46F61ED681B2DBFE89244BC7>reporting area</> and
employer, together with two dates: for-period and in-period end date.
Each for-period date indicates for which date information in the record
is valid and the in-period indicates on which date this information is
gathered. For each subsequent in-period date, the system records only
the values of figures that are different from previous ones for the same
set of identification parameters including for-period date.
The system detected that a record is going to be changed using an
in-period date that is not last for record for-period date. Such a
change will corrupt data for subsequent in-period parts that were
recorded earlier. The system terminated processing to prevent data
    corruption.

The SAP error message HRPAY99RU_RMS_DB092 indicates that there is an attempt to change a record in the HR (Human Resources) module, but the system has detected that there is future-dated data associated with that record. This is a common issue in HR systems where data integrity is crucial, especially when dealing with payroll and employee records.

    Cause:

    The error occurs when:

    • You are trying to modify a record (such as an employee's pay, position, or other HR-related data) that has future-dated entries.
    • The system prevents changes to ensure that future data remains consistent and accurate.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Future Records:

      • Review the employee's records to identify any future-dated entries. This can typically be done through transaction codes like PA20 (Display HR Master Data) or PA30 (Maintain HR Master Data).
      • Look for any changes that are scheduled to take effect in the future.
    2. Adjust Future Records:

      • If you need to make changes, you may need to adjust or delete the future records first. Be cautious with this step, as it can affect payroll and other HR processes.
      • If the future records are necessary, consider whether the change can be postponed until after the future records are no longer relevant.
    3. Use the Correct Transaction:

      • Ensure you are using the correct transaction for the type of change you are trying to make. Some changes may require specific transactions that handle future data differently.
    4. Consult with HR or Payroll Team:

      • If you are unsure about the implications of changing future-dated records, consult with your HR or payroll team. They can provide guidance on the best course of action.
    5. System Configuration:

      • In some cases, the system configuration may need to be reviewed. If you frequently encounter this issue, it may be worth discussing with your SAP Basis or HR module consultant to see if there are settings that can be adjusted.
