  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRLDAP005 - The query mapping is incomplete ?

The SAP error message HRLDAP005: The query mapping is incomplete typically occurs in the context of integrating SAP HR (Human Resources) with an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) directory service. This error indicates that there is a problem with the configuration of the LDAP query mapping, which is used to retrieve HR data from the LDAP directory.

    Cause:

    1. Incomplete Configuration: The LDAP query mapping may not be fully configured. This can happen if required fields or parameters are missing in the mapping settings.
    2. Incorrect Mapping: The fields in the LDAP directory may not be correctly mapped to the corresponding fields in the SAP HR system.
    3. Missing Attributes: The attributes that are expected in the LDAP directory may not be present or correctly defined.
    4. Version Mismatch: There may be compatibility issues between the versions of SAP and the LDAP server being used.

    Solution:

    1. Check Configuration: Review the LDAP configuration settings in the SAP system. Ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly in the query mapping.

      • Go to transaction HRLDAP or HRLDAPC to access the LDAP configuration.
      • Verify that the mapping for each attribute is complete and correctly defined.
    2. Validate Mappings: Ensure that the mappings between SAP HR fields and LDAP attributes are correct. This includes checking for typos or incorrect field names.

    3. Test LDAP Connection: Use the LDAP test tools available in SAP to verify that the connection to the LDAP server is functioning correctly. This can help identify if the issue is with the connection rather than the mapping.

    4. Review Documentation: Consult the SAP documentation for LDAP integration to ensure that all necessary steps have been followed during the configuration process.

    5. Check for Updates: Ensure that both the SAP system and the LDAP server are up to date with the latest patches and updates, as this can resolve compatibility issues.

    6. Consult Logs: Check the SAP application logs (transaction SLG1) for any additional error messages or warnings that may provide more context about the issue.

    7. Seek Support: If the issue persists after checking the above points, consider reaching out to SAP support or your system administrator for further assistance.
