The derived and additional cost items were changed in an implementation

period exceeds the validity of the object. The cost object is valid
from &V3& to &V4&, but a cost item exists that is valid from &V1& to
&V2&.
The system does not process these cost items any further.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Error in BAdI implementation; cost item period is invalid ?The SAP error message HRHCP00_PLAN095, which indicates "Error in BAdI implementation; cost item period is invalid," typically arises in the context of Human Capital Management (HCM) when there is an issue with the implementation of a Business Add-In (BAdI) related to planning or cost items.
Cause:
Invalid Period: The error usually occurs when the cost item period specified in the planning data is not valid. This could be due to:
- The period being outside the defined fiscal year or planning horizon.
- The period not being open for posting or planning in the system.
- Incorrect configuration in the BAdI implementation that does not handle the period correctly.
BAdI Implementation Issues: If the BAdI implementation has not been correctly coded or configured, it may not handle certain scenarios properly, leading to this error.
Data Consistency: There may be inconsistencies in the data being processed, such as missing or incorrect entries in the planning tables.
Solution:
Check Period Validity:
- Verify that the period being referenced in the planning data is valid and open for posting. You can check the fiscal year variant settings and ensure that the period is within the allowed range.
Review BAdI Implementation:
- If you have access to the BAdI implementation, review the code to ensure that it correctly handles the cost item periods. Look for any logic that might inadvertently reject valid periods.
- Ensure that the BAdI is activated and properly configured in the system.
Data Validation:
- Check the planning data for any inconsistencies or missing entries. Ensure that all required fields are populated correctly.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific BAdI you are using. There may be known issues or additional configuration steps required.
Debugging:
- If you have the necessary authorizations, you can debug the BAdI implementation to identify where the error is occurring. This can provide insights into why the period is being considered invalid.
