SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: HRBEN00INFOTYPES - Error Messages for Benefits - Infotypes

  • Message number: 012

  • Message text: Records of this infotype cannot be delimited

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The <LS>Delimit</> function is inactive for records of this infotype.
These infotype records either are valid only for a certain key date
(rather than for a whole period), so that delimitation of records makes
no sense, or may have been created automatically by the system, meaning
that you should not modify them manually.

    How to fix this error?

If the infotype records are valid only for a certain key date, then you
can only delete or change them. These records cannot be delimited.
If the infotype records were created automatically, then you may
manually change them individually within HR Master Data. To do so,
execute transaction <ZH>PA30</>, then modify the relevant record(s) in
    <LS>Change</> mode.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRBEN00INFOTYPES012 - Records of this infotype cannot be delimited ?

The SAP error message HRBEN00INFOTYPES012 ("Records of this infotype cannot be delimited") typically occurs in the context of managing employee benefits and infotypes in the SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) module. This error indicates that there is an issue with delimiting (or ending) a record for a specific infotype, which is often related to the employee's benefits data.

    Cause:

    1. Active Records: The infotype record you are trying to delimit may still be active or in use. For example, if there are overlapping records or if the record you are trying to delimit has a future date that conflicts with existing records.
    2. Date Overlap: There may be another record for the same infotype that overlaps with the date range of the record you are trying to delimit.
    3. Incorrect Configuration: The infotype configuration may not allow for delimiting under certain conditions, or there may be custom validations in place that prevent the action.
    4. Missing Required Data: Certain required fields may not be filled out, which can prevent the delimiting process.

    Solution:

    1. Check Existing Records: Review the existing records for the infotype in question. Ensure that there are no overlapping records that would prevent delimiting. You can do this by using transaction code PA20 (Display HR Master Data) or PA30 (Maintain HR Master Data).
    2. Delimit Future Records: If there are future records that overlap with the record you want to delimit, you may need to adjust or delimit those records first.
    3. Review Dates: Ensure that the dates you are trying to use for delimiting are correct and do not conflict with other records.
    4. Consult Configuration: If you have access to the configuration settings, check the infotype settings in the IMG (Implementation Guide) to see if there are any restrictions or validations that might be causing the issue.
    5. Check for Custom Code: If your organization has custom enhancements or modifications, check if there are any custom validations that might be affecting the delimiting process.
    6. User Authorization: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to perform the delimiting action.

    Related Information:

    • Infotypes: Infotypes are data structures in SAP HCM that store specific types of information about employees, such as personal data, payroll data, and benefits data.
