  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message GRPG121 - WBS element has not assigned a valuated individual stock ?

The SAP error message GRPG121 indicates that a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) element has not been assigned a valuated individual stock. This typically occurs in the context of project management and controlling within SAP, particularly when dealing with project-related materials and inventory.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Assignment: The WBS element is not linked to any valuated individual stock. This means that the system cannot find any stock that is specifically assigned to that WBS element.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for the project or the materials may not be set up correctly, leading to the inability to assign stock to the WBS element.
    3. Stock Type: The stock type may not be compatible with the WBS element. For example, if the stock is not marked as valuated or is in a non-usable state, it cannot be assigned.
    4. Project Settings: The project settings may not allow for the assignment of individual stock to the WBS element.

    Solution:

    1. Check WBS Element Assignment: Ensure that the WBS element is correctly assigned to the relevant project and that it is set up to accept valuated individual stock.
    2. Assign Valuated Stock: If there is stock available, ensure that it is properly assigned to the WBS element. This can be done through the transaction codes related to project stock management (e.g., using the transaction code MB1A for goods issues).
    3. Review Material Master Data: Check the material master data to ensure that the stock is set up as valuated and that it is compatible with the WBS element.
    4. Configuration Settings: Review the configuration settings in the project system (PS) module to ensure that the settings allow for the assignment of individual stock to WBS elements.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on managing project stock and WBS elements.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CJ20N (Project Builder), CJI3 (Project Actual Line Items), and MB1A (Goods Withdrawal) for managing project-related stock.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to this error message.
    • User Roles and Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to perform stock assignments and manage WBS elements.
    • Training and Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with an SAP expert for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the GRPG121 error and successfully assign valuated individual stock to the relevant WBS element.
