Message number: 093
Message text: Inconsistencies in the definition of validation &
The &V3& of step &V4& for validation &V1& is saved in the system as
rule &V2&. The data of this rule is not compatible with validation
&V1&.
The code for the validation was generated incorrectly. The maintenance
or deletion of validation &V1& is not possible!
You have two possibilities:
With help from program <DS:REPN.RGUGBT12>RGUGBT12</>, you can attempt
to restore the data consistency of validation &V1& by selecting the
first option ("Correct Boolean class"). You can then maintain the
validation with the help of transaction <DS:TRAN.GGB0>GGB0</> and then
attempt to save. If that does not work:
You can delete the validation with the help of program
(<DS:REPN.RGUGBT12>RGUGBT12</>). Select the second option ("Delete
validation"). If the validation is being used, this will be displayed
before the confirmation prompt. Prior to this, you can list the
contents of the validation (as long as the existing data allow it)
using transaction <DS:TRAN.GGB0>GGB0</> in conjunction with the
"Validation --> Print" function.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Inconsistencies in the definition of validation & ?The SAP error message GB093, which indicates "Inconsistencies in the definition of validation," typically arises in the context of validation rules in the SAP system, particularly in the area of financial accounting or controlling. This error suggests that there are discrepancies or conflicts in the validation rules that have been defined in the system.
Causes:
- Conflicting Validation Rules: There may be multiple validation rules that contradict each other or are not properly defined.
- Missing or Incorrect Configuration: Some required fields or parameters for the validation might be missing or incorrectly configured.
- Changes in Master Data: Changes in master data (like account definitions or cost centers) that are not reflected in the validation rules can lead to inconsistencies.
- Transport Issues: If validation rules were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), inconsistencies may arise if the transport was not executed correctly.
Solutions:
- Review Validation Rules: Go to the transaction code OB28 (for validation) and check the definitions of the validation rules. Ensure that there are no conflicting rules and that all necessary conditions are correctly defined.
- Check Dependencies: Ensure that all dependencies and prerequisites for the validation rules are met. This includes checking the master data and ensuring that it aligns with the validation logic.
- Test Validations: Use the test functionality in the validation configuration to simulate transactions and see where the inconsistencies arise.
- Transport Check: If the issue arose after a transport, check the transport logs for any errors or warnings. Ensure that all necessary objects were included in the transport.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or notes related to validation rules for any known issues or additional configuration steps that may be required.
- Debugging: If necessary, use debugging tools to trace the execution of the validation logic to identify where the inconsistency occurs.
