Message text: User &3 has locked &4 (cycle process group "no parallel capability")
DEFINE &USER& = &V3&
INCLUDE MESSAGE_ENQUEUE_USER OBJECT DOKU ID TX
You want to execute the &V4& cycle &V1&, start date &V2&, with an
update. However, since this cycle is assigned to cycle run group 0000
(no parallel execution) and since currently another &V4& cycle is being
executed with an update by user &V3&, cycle &V1&, &V2& or the entire
collective processing cannot be started.
&V4& can be started with an update for cycle run group 0000 only once
per controlling area at a certain point in time.
The cycle or the entire collective processing cannot be started since
there is a lock. Processing is terminated.
The lock is carried out on tables TKA04 and T811P.
Contact user &V3&. You can use transaction SM12 to find out more
information about the lock.
If required, you can also assign the cycle to another process group to
be able to carry out the parallel processing. However, note that modular
cycles must always be in the same process group to avoid incorrect
allocations.
You can lock a cycle run group either by executing a different cycle or
by manually reposting a document during indirect activity allocation.

GA564
- User &3 has locked &4 (cycle process group "no parallel capability") ?The SAP error message GA564 indicates that a user has locked a cycle process group that does not support parallel processing. This typically occurs in the context of production planning or process management where certain operations or cycles are restricted to sequential execution due to dependencies or resource constraints.
Cause:
- User Lock: The user specified in the error message has locked the cycle process group, preventing other users from accessing or modifying it.
- No Parallel Capability: The cycle process group is configured in such a way that it cannot be executed in parallel with other processes. This is often due to dependencies between tasks or resource limitations.
Solution:
- Identify the Locking User: Determine which user has locked the cycle process group. This can often be done by checking the transaction logs or using transaction codes like SM12 (to view locks).
- Release the Lock: If the locking user is not actively using the cycle process group, you can ask them to log off or release the lock. Alternatively, an administrator can manually release the lock using transaction SM12.
- Check Configuration: Review the configuration of the cycle process group to ensure that it is set up correctly. If parallel processing is required, consider modifying the configuration to allow for it, if feasible.
- Communication: Ensure that all users are aware of the locking mechanism and the importance of releasing locks when they are done with their tasks to avoid unnecessary delays.
Related Information:
Transaction Codes:
Documentation: Review SAP documentation related to process management and locking mechanisms to understand how locks are managed and how to configure process groups effectively.
User Training: Consider providing training for users on how to manage locks and the importance of releasing them to improve overall system efficiency.
