You are running a partial import of transaction data and additional
financial data for the consolidation of investments.
    You made the following selections:
    Parameter ,,Import
    Totals records ,,&V1&
    Journal entries ,,&V2&
    Additional financial data for C/I,,&V3&

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Totals records, journal entries (line items), and additional financial
data for consolidation of investments are all dependent on each other.
If you want to import the three types of data independently, make sure
    you consider the following dependencies:
Dependency of totals records to the journal entries
When journal entries are posted, the system also updates the totals
records accordingly. Thus, if you import the totals records first, and
then the journal entries, your target system will receive other totals
records than those in the source system.
If you import totals records and journal entries separately, make sure
you import the journal entries first, and the totals records
    afterwards.
Mutual dependency of additional financial data for consolidation of
    investments and journal entries
Documents are posted when the activities of consolidation of
investments are executed. The additional financial data is linked to
the documents via the activity numbers. To prevent inconsistencies, the
import function assigns new activity numbers. It is not possible to
update matching activity numbers if the additional financial data is
imported independently of the journal entries.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message G00589 - Incomplete transport may lead to inconsistent data ?

The SAP error message G00589, which states "Incomplete transport may lead to inconsistent data," typically occurs during the transport of objects between different SAP systems (e.g., from development to quality assurance or production). This error indicates that the transport request is incomplete, which can lead to inconsistencies in the data or application behavior.

    Cause:

    1. Incomplete Transport Request: The transport request may not have included all necessary objects or dependencies. This can happen if some objects were not released or if there were issues during the transport process.
    2. Missing Dependencies: If the transport request relies on other objects or transport requests that have not been transported or are missing, it can lead to inconsistencies.
    3. Transport Errors: Errors during the transport process, such as network issues or system downtime, can result in incomplete transports.
    4. Manual Changes: If manual changes were made in the target system that conflict with the transported objects, it can lead to inconsistencies.

    Solution:

    1. Check Transport Logs: Review the transport logs to identify any errors or warnings that occurred during the transport process. This can provide insights into what went wrong.
    2. Verify Transport Request: Ensure that all necessary objects and dependencies are included in the transport request. You may need to create a new transport request that includes the missing objects.
    3. Re-transport Objects: If certain objects were not transported correctly, you may need to re-transport them. Make sure to include all related objects and dependencies.
    4. Consistency Check: Perform a consistency check in the target system to identify any inconsistencies. This can be done using transaction codes like SE03 (Transport Organizer Tools) or SE09/SE10 (Transport Requests).
    5. Manual Corrections: If necessary, manually correct any inconsistencies in the target system. This may involve adjusting configuration settings or reapplying changes.
    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or support notes related to transport issues for additional guidance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as SE01 (Transport Organizer), SE09/SE10 (Transport Requests), and SE03 (Transport Organizer Tools).
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to transport errors. You can search for specific notes using the SAP Support Portal.
    • Transport Management System (TMS): Ensure that your TMS is properly configured and that all systems in the landscape are correctly connected.
    • Testing: After resolving the issue, conduct thorough testing in the target system to ensure that all functionalities are working as expected and that there are no remaining inconsistencies.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the G00589 error and ensure that your SAP transport processes are functioning correctly.
