Message type: E = Error
Message class: G00 - SAP Consolidation
Message number: 058
Message text: Cannot close period because task group &1 is group-dependent
The period should be closed. As the quantity of tasks (from task group
&V1&), which are displayed at present, are only a partial quantity of
all tasks to be executed in dimension &V2&, version &V3& and period
&V4&, closing the period is not possible in this monitor display:
In dimension &V2& all relevant tasks have not been executed and blocked
yet. The displayed overall status "Complete" only refers to the
displayed quantity of tasks.
If the possibility existed here, to close the period, in a more global
consolidation monitor, you would be forced to re-open the period for
the execution of the tasks which are not displayed here. Therefore this
function is only possible in a monitor display, in which all tasks are
displayed.
Error message
If required, change the global parameters (provided that you have
authorization to do this) and check the assigned task group &V1& (for
the cons monitor) in the master data maintenance of consoldation
groups. They are defined in the global parameters for you.
To check the assigned tasks, you can call up Customizing of task
groups.

G00058
- Cannot close period because task group &1 is group-dependent ?The SAP error message G00058 indicates that you are trying to close a financial period, but the task group specified is dependent on a group that has not been completed or is still open. This typically occurs in the context of financial closing processes, where certain tasks must be completed in a specific order or before a period can be closed.
Cause:

- Incomplete Tasks: There may be tasks within the group that are still open or have not been executed successfully.
- Configuration Issues: The configuration of the task groups may not be set up correctly, leading to dependencies that are not being met.
Solution:
- Check Task Group Status: Review the status of the task groups involved. Ensure that all tasks in the dependent group are completed successfully.
- Complete All Required Tasks: Make sure that all necessary tasks in the group that the current task group depends on are executed and completed.
- Review Dependencies: Check the configuration of the task groups to understand the dependencies. You may need to consult with your SAP configuration team to ensure that the dependencies are correctly set up.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's internal guidelines for the financial closing process to ensure that you are following the correct procedures.
