Message text: Assignment top cons group &2 to hierarchy &1: invalid in target dimension
Consolidation group &V2& is assigned to hierarchy &V1& as a top
consolidation group for certain period of time. However, this
organizational unit does not exist in target dimenson &V3&.
Hierarchy &V1& will be copied without the period-dependent assignment
of a top cons group.
You can only copy the cons group assignment if you also copy cons group
&V2& (by selecting it on the selection screen).
You can also maintain cons group hierarchies manually in Consolidation
Customizing. Before you do this, switch to the target dimension in the
global parameters.

G0543
- Assignment top cons group &2 to hierarchy &1: invalid in target dimension ?The SAP error message G0543, which states "Assignment top cons group &2 to hierarchy &1: invalid in target dimension," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP Analytics when there is an issue with the assignment of a characteristic or a hierarchy to a specific dimension in a data model.
Cause:
Invalid Hierarchy Assignment: The error usually indicates that the hierarchy you are trying to assign to a characteristic is not valid for the target dimension. This can happen if:
- The hierarchy is not defined correctly.
- The hierarchy is not compatible with the target dimension.
- The characteristic or hierarchy is not activated or is in a state that does not allow it to be used.
Dimension Mismatch: The characteristic or hierarchy may belong to a different dimension than the one you are trying to assign it to.
Data Model Configuration: There may be issues in the configuration of the data model, such as missing or incorrect settings in the InfoObject or InfoProvider.
Solution:
Check Hierarchy Definition: Verify that the hierarchy is correctly defined and activated in the SAP system. Ensure that it is compatible with the target dimension.
Review Dimension Settings: Check the settings of the target dimension to ensure that it allows the assignment of the specified hierarchy. Make sure that the characteristic is part of the dimension you are working with.
Reassign Hierarchy: If the hierarchy is not valid for the target dimension, consider reassigning it to a different dimension where it is valid.
Activate Objects: Ensure that all relevant InfoObjects, hierarchies, and dimensions are activated. Sometimes, changes may not take effect until the objects are activated.
Check for Transport Issues: If the hierarchy or characteristic was recently transported from another system, ensure that all dependencies were transported correctly.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific version of SAP BW or Analytics you are using for any known issues or additional troubleshooting steps.

If the problem persists after following these steps, consider reaching out to SAP support or consulting with a technical expert who specializes in SAP BW or Analytics.
