FRMLDLG231
- Formula view &1 is inconsistent ?The SAP error message FRMLDLG231, which states "Formula view &1 is inconsistent," typically occurs in the context of SAP HANA or SAP BW when there is an issue with a calculation view or formula view. This inconsistency can arise from various reasons, such as changes in the underlying data model, missing dependencies, or issues with the definition of the formula itself.
Causes:
- Changes in Data Model: If the underlying tables or views that the formula view depends on have been modified (e.g., fields added, removed, or renamed), it can lead to inconsistencies.
- Missing Dependencies: If the formula view references other views or tables that are not available or have been deleted, it will result in an inconsistency.
- Syntax Errors: Errors in the formula syntax or logic can also cause the view to be marked as inconsistent.
- Data Type Mismatches: If there are data type mismatches between the expected and actual data types in the formula, it can lead to inconsistencies.
- Versioning Issues: If there are multiple versions of the same view and the system is trying to access an outdated version, inconsistencies may arise.
Solutions:
- Check Dependencies: Review the dependencies of the formula view to ensure that all referenced objects are available and correctly defined.
- Rebuild the View: If the view is significantly altered, consider rebuilding it from scratch or re-creating the formula to ensure it aligns with the current data model.
- Validate Syntax: Go through the formula and check for any syntax errors or logical issues. Use the syntax check feature in the SAP HANA Studio or SAP BW modeling tools.
- Data Type Verification: Ensure that all data types used in the formula are compatible and correctly defined.
- Activate the View: Sometimes, simply reactivating the formula view can resolve the inconsistency. This can be done in the modeling environment.
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your SAP system is up to date with the latest patches and updates, as some inconsistencies may be resolved in newer versions.
