- You cannot enter the standard explosion of the primary output manually ?The SAP error message FRMLDLG229, which states "You cannot enter the standard explosion of the primary output manually," typically occurs in the context of production planning and control, particularly when dealing with production orders and bill of materials (BOM) in SAP.
Cause:
This error usually arises when a user attempts to manually enter or modify the standard explosion of a primary output in a production order or a related transaction. The standard explosion is a predefined structure that SAP uses to determine the components required for producing a finished product. The system restricts manual changes to ensure data integrity and consistency, as the explosion is typically derived from the BOM and routing.
Solution:
To resolve this error, consider the following steps:
Check BOM and Routing: Ensure that the BOM and routing for the primary output are correctly defined and maintained in the system. If there are discrepancies, correct them in the BOM or routing.
Use the Standard Explosion: Instead of trying to enter the explosion manually, use the standard explosion functionality provided by SAP. This can usually be done by executing the appropriate transaction (e.g., CO01 for creating production orders) and allowing the system to generate the explosion based on the existing BOM.
Review User Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to perform the actions they are attempting. Sometimes, restrictions in user roles can lead to such errors.
Check Configuration Settings: Review the configuration settings in the production planning module. There may be settings that restrict manual entries for certain types of production orders or outputs.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling production orders and BOMs. This can provide insights into best practices and system behavior.
Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot identify the cause, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They can provide more detailed troubleshooting based on your specific system configuration.
