  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message FITP119 - The RFC destination is not maintained ?

The SAP error message FITP119, which states "The RFC destination is not maintained," typically occurs when a Remote Function Call (RFC) destination that is required for a specific operation is not configured or is incorrectly set up in the SAP system. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when trying to connect to an external system or when executing certain transactions that rely on RFC communication.

    Cause:

    1. Missing RFC Destination: The specified RFC destination does not exist in the system.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The RFC destination exists but is not configured correctly (e.g., wrong connection parameters).
    3. Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to access the RFC destination.
    4. Network Issues: There may be network connectivity issues preventing access to the target system.
    5. System Configuration: The target system may not be properly set up to accept RFC calls.

    Solution:

    1. Check RFC Destination:

      • Go to transaction code SM59 (RFC Destinations).
      • Look for the required RFC destination in the list. If it is not present, you will need to create it.
      • If it exists, double-click on it to check its configuration.
    2. Create or Maintain RFC Destination:

      • If the RFC destination is missing, create a new one by clicking on the "Create" button.
      • Fill in the required fields, such as:

        • System Number: The system number of the target SAP system.
        • Client: The client number of the target system.

      • Test the connection using the "Connection Test" button to ensure it is working correctly.
    3. Check Authorizations:

      • Ensure that the user executing the transaction has the necessary authorizations to access the RFC destination.
    4. Network Configuration:

      • Verify that there are no network issues preventing the connection to the target system. This may involve checking firewalls, VPNs, or other network configurations.
    5. Consult Documentation:
