  • What causes this issue?

    The customer project provides plan values for revenue recognition. If it
    does not supply cost elements for all plan values revenue recognition
    does not function.
    A cost element is a GL account which requires an account assignment to a
    cost object.

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Please contact your system administration for correcting the
    customizing.
    Please check the mapping of cost elements to resources and map the cost
    elements which are not mapped yet. The pre-delivered cost element groups
    should be updated with these cost elements too.

    The app Configure Your Solution provides a self-service for maintaining
    the mapping of cost elements to resources. Search for the application
    area Professional Services, sub application area Project Management,
    configuration step Define Expenses.
    In the past the mapping of cost elements to resources could be met via a
    service center request, component XX-S4C-SRV-CON, because a SSCUI was
    not available. Now, please use the self-service instead.
    If the pre-delivered customizing is concerned you may open an incident
    with the component FI-CNT-CO.

    If the mapping of resources to cost elements is missing for some
    resources you find this in the IMG via the path Commercial Projects and
    Project-Based Services -> Project Cost and Revenue Planning -> Define
    Resources: Define Resources -> Resource and Key Figures for Cost and
    Revenue -> Map Resource with Cost Element, Cost Element Group.

    Technical Remarks for Analysis and Support
    The method 'get_plan_details_for_wbs' of the ABAP class
    '/cpd/cl_sc_cpm_utility' does provide the plan values from a customer
    project (commercial project) for revenue recognition. In case of
    technical issues with this interface you may open an incident with the
    component CA-CPD-SS.
