    Cause:

The error arises when the system attempts to create or manage an address record, but the address number (ADRNR) has reached its maximum limit for the specified client. Each client in SAP has a defined range of address numbers, and if this range is exhausted, the system cannot create new address records, leading to this error.

    Solution:

To resolve this issue, you need to increase the number range for the address numbers in the affected client. Here are the steps to do this:

    1. Access the Number Range Configuration:

      • Go to transaction code SNRO (Number Range Objects).
      • Enter the object name for address numbers, which is typically ADRNR.
    2. Check Current Number Ranges:

      • In the number range object, check the current number ranges defined for the address numbers.
      • Identify the range that is currently being used and see if it is exhausted.
    3. Adjust the Number Range:

      • If the current range is exhausted, you can either extend the existing range or create a new number range.
      • To extend, select the number range and adjust the upper limit to a higher value.
      • Make sure to save your changes.
    4. Test the Changes:

      • After adjusting the number range, test the functionality that was previously causing the error to ensure that the issue is resolved.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to OSS note 379769 for any specific instructions or considerations related to your SAP version or configuration.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:

      • SNRO: Number Range Object Maintenance
      • SE11: Data Dictionary (to check table structures if needed)
    • SAP Notes:

      • Always check for the latest SAP notes related to your version of SAP, as there may be updates or additional instructions.
    • Backup:

      • Before making changes to number ranges, it is advisable to back up your configuration or consult with your SAP Basis team to ensure that changes do not affect other functionalities.
    • Testing Environment:

      • If possible, perform these changes in a development or testing environment before applying them to production to avoid any disruptions.
