What causes this issue?

In the current node of the master data template, the attribute
representing the <DS:DE.EQUNR>equipment number</> of a device has not
been maintained. The system therefore attempted to determine the
equipment number using the attributes of the device category and device
number. These attributes have the following values:
Device category (attribute MATNR): &V1&
Device number (attribute SERNR): &V2&
An equipment number could not be determined using this data.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

If the device category or device number attributes do not contain values
, an equipment number cannot be determined. Analyze the structure of the
master data template. When the template is called, do any parameters
remain unfilled?
If the device category or device number attributes do contain values,
check whether these values belong to an existing device. If not, correct
the entries. If the values do belong to a device, then the device info
records contains device numbers that are not unique. These device info
records can only be processed by the master data generator if you use
the equipment number attribute.
