The displayed data is either inherited, temporarily overwritten, or
permanently overwritten.
The system responds differently in these three cases:
Inherited data cannot be changed. The fields are read only.
Inherited and permanently overwritten data can be changed. The fields
are editable.
Inherited and temporarily overwritten data can be changed. The fields
are editable.
Remember that the data is updated when the corresponding data in the
source specification of the inheritance is changed.
The <LS>Identification Region </>that is displayed at the top of the
application shows a summary of all displayed data.
If inherited data is displayed, the summary states <LS>Inherited</>.
If inherited and permanently overwritten data is displayed the summary
states <LS>Inherited: Permanently Overwritten</>.
If inherited and permanently overwritten and temporarily overwritten
data is displayed the summary states <LS>Inherited: Permanently
Overwritten, Temporarily Overwritten</>.
Note
If inherited and original data (that is, data that is not inherited) is
displayed, the summary also contains the information <LS>Original Data
</>.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
