  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Basic or surface material &v1& contains more than 0.1% of pure substance
&v2& that is marked as a process chemical.
    <ZH>Note:</>
The IMDS is intended for the data for chemicals that are contained in
the final product. Therefore, pure substances that are used as process
chemicals during the manufacturing process are not to be added to the
IMDS. The IMDS does not allow you to add process chemicals to the MDS.
Since final products can contain process chemicals, process chemicals
are registered in the IMDS basic substance list. If you use process
chemicals in your final products, assign the component type
    <LB>Intended Use</>, <LB>Reaction Residue</> or <LB>Impurity </>to the
process chemical that is used in the composition of the final product.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    Reaction residue (component type <LB>REACTION</>)
    Impurity (component type <LB>IMPURITY</>)
You can also remove the pure substance from the composition of the basic

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message EHPRC_CPM_IMDS136 - Basic material &1 exceeds 0.1 % of process chemical &2 ?

The SAP error message EHPRC_CPM_IMDS136 indicates that a basic material in a process chemical exceeds the allowed threshold of 0.1%. This error typically arises in the context of compliance with regulations such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) or other environmental and safety standards that restrict the use of certain substances in products.

    Cause:

    1. Excessive Concentration: The basic material (substance) in question is present in a concentration greater than 0.1% in the specified process chemical.
    2. Regulatory Compliance: The system is enforcing compliance with regulations that limit the presence of certain hazardous materials in products.
    3. Data Entry Error: There may be an error in the data entry where the concentration of the basic material was incorrectly recorded.

    Solution:

    1. Review Material Composition: Check the composition of the process chemical to confirm the concentration of the basic material. If it exceeds 0.1%, consider reformulating the product to reduce the concentration.
    2. Update Data: If the concentration is incorrectly recorded, update the material data in the system to reflect the correct values.
    3. Substitution: If the basic material is indeed necessary but exceeds the limit, consider substituting it with a compliant alternative that meets regulatory requirements.
    4. Consult Regulatory Guidelines: Ensure that you are familiar with the relevant regulations and guidelines that apply to your industry and products.
    5. Documentation: Ensure that all relevant documentation is updated to reflect any changes made to the material composition or formulation.

    Related Information:

    • IMDS (International Material Data System): This is a global database for the automotive industry to manage material compliance. Understanding how to use IMDS can help in managing material data effectively.
    • REACH Compliance: Familiarize yourself with REACH regulations, as they may impact the materials you can use in your products.
    • SAP Configuration: Ensure that your SAP system is configured correctly to handle material compliance checks and that all relevant data is accurately maintained.

If the issue persists after taking these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a compliance specialist to further investigate the problem.
