  • What causes this issue?

You selected a spare part and want to copy it to the list. This spare
part is not assigned to a material master record and you have already
copied this spare part to the list before. The unit of measure &V1& of
the selected spare part cannot be converted to the unit of measure of
spare part &V4&<(>,<)> which is already in the list.

    System Response

The selected spare part is identical to spare part &V4&, which has the
unit of measure &V3& and is already in the list. The system therefore
adds the quantity &V2& to the quantity of spare part &V4& and replaces
the unit of measure by unit of measure &V3&.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Check the quantity of spare part &V4& in the spare parts list and change

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message EAMVE027 - UoM &1 cannot be converted to UoM &3 of spare part (&4); &2 &3 added ?

The SAP error message EAMVE027 indicates an issue with unit of measure (UoM) conversion for spare parts in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) module. This error typically arises when there is an attempt to convert a unit of measure that is not compatible with the target unit of measure for a specific spare part.

    Cause:

    1. Incompatible UoM: The source unit of measure (&1) cannot be converted to the target unit of measure (&3) for the specified spare part (&4). This could be due to a lack of defined conversion factors between the two units.
    2. Missing Conversion Factors: The conversion factors for the units involved may not be defined in the system.
    3. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for units of measure in the material master or the relevant customizing settings may not be set up correctly.
    4. Data Entry Error: There may be a mistake in the data entry where the wrong unit of measure is being used.

    Solution:

    1. Check Unit of Measure Settings:

      • Go to the material master record for the spare part in question and check the unit of measure settings.
      • Ensure that the source and target units of measure are correctly defined and that conversion factors exist.
    2. Define Conversion Factors:

      • If conversion factors are missing, you can define them in the SAP system. This can typically be done in the material master under the "Units of Measure" view.
      • Use transaction code CUNI to maintain unit of measure conversions.
    3. Review Configuration:

      • Check the configuration settings in the customizing (SPRO) for units of measure to ensure that they are set up correctly.
      • Ensure that the relevant UoM categories are properly defined.
    4. Data Validation:

      • Validate the data entry to ensure that the correct units of measure are being used in transactions.
      • If necessary, correct any erroneous entries.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for further guidance on unit of measure conversions and related settings.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:

      • MM03: Display Material Master
      • CUNI: Maintain Unit of Measure Conversions
      • SPRO: Access Customizing settings
