  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message EAMS_BO274 - Suboperation &1 of operation &2 was not copied due to service relevance ?

The SAP error message EAMS_BO274 indicates that a specific suboperation of an operation in a maintenance order or work order was not copied due to its service relevance. This typically occurs in the context of maintenance planning and execution within the SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) module.

    Cause:

The error arises when you attempt to copy an operation that includes suboperations that are marked as service relevant. In SAP, service-relevant operations are those that are linked to specific service tasks or activities that require special handling or documentation. The system prevents the copying of these operations to ensure that the integrity of service-related data is maintained.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can consider the following approaches:

    1. Review the Operations:

      • Check the operations and suboperations in the original order. Identify which suboperation is marked as service relevant.
      • If the suboperation is not necessary for the new order, you may choose to exclude it from the copying process.
    2. Adjust Service Relevance:

      • If appropriate, you can change the service relevance status of the suboperation in the original order. This may involve modifying the configuration or settings related to the operation.
    3. Manual Entry:

      • Instead of copying the operation, you can manually create the operation and suboperations in the new order. This allows you to bypass the copying restriction while ensuring that all necessary details are included.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or help resources related to EAM and service relevance to understand the implications of service-relevant operations and how they should be handled.
    5. Check Customizations:

      • If your organization has custom developments or enhancements in place, check if any custom logic is affecting the copying of operations. You may need to consult with your SAP technical team.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as IW31 (Create Order), IW32 (Change Order), and IW33 (Display Order) to manage maintenance orders effectively.
    • SAP Notes: Look for SAP Notes related to EAMS_BO274 for any patches or updates that may address this issue.
