How To Fix DO678 - Parallel execution: & sec., Phase out time: & sec., Load: & percent

DO678 - Overview

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: DO - Dictionary: Mass activation of domains and data elements

  • Message number: 678

  • Message text: Parallel execution: & sec., Phase out time: & sec., Load: & percent

  • Parallel Processing
Time interval between starting the first and receiving the last task.
    Phase out time
Time interval between the moment when not all the parallel processes
can be occupied and the moment the last process finishes.
Ideally all the parallel processes should finish at the same time,
since in this case the system would work with maximum power for the
entire processing time. The shorter the phase out time is (in relation
to the processing time), the better is the distribution of the objects
    in tasks.
If an error occurs during the phase out time, the faulty task is
repeated. The phase out time displayed is not meaningful in this case.
    Load
Utilization of the processes in percent
( = Sum of the process times / (processing time * no. of processes) )

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message DO678 - Parallel execution: & sec., Phase out time: & sec., Load: & percent ?
The SAP error message DO678 typically relates to issues with parallel processing in the SAP system. This message indicates that the system is experiencing delays or performance issues during the execution of parallel tasks. Here’s a breakdown of the cause, potential solutions, and related information:

Cause: High Load on System: The system may be under heavy load, causing delays in processing parallel tasks. Resource Contention: There may be contention for system resources (CPU, memory, I/O) among different processes.
Configuration Issues: The configuration settings for parallel processing may not be optimized for the current workload. Long-running Processes: Some processes may be taking longer than expected, leading to a backlog in parallel execution. Database Performance: Slow database performance can also contribute to delays in processing. Solutions: Monitor System Performance: Use transaction codes like ST03N (Workload Analysis) and ST06 (Operating System Monitor) to analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks. Adjust Parallel Processing Settings: Review and adjust the settings for parallel processing in
