Message text: Total length of all sort fields (&1) is too long
The total length of all sort fields is &V1& bytes. However, DMEE format

Remove fields from the list of sort fields. Be sure not to remove any
fields that are required in the DMEE format tree as key fields.

- Total length of all sort fields (&1) is too long ?The SAP error message DMEE_PAYMFORMAT312 indicates that the total length of all sort fields specified in the DMEE (Data Medium Exchange Engine) payment format is exceeding the allowed limit. This typically occurs when you are trying to generate a payment file and the configuration for sorting fields in the DMEE tree is not set up correctly, leading to an overflow in the total length of the sort fields.
Cause:
- Excessive Sort Fields: You may have defined too many sort fields or the fields you are using have a larger length than what is permissible.
- Field Length Exceeded: The combined length of the defined sort fields exceeds the maximum limit set by the DMEE configuration.
- Incorrect Configuration: The DMEE tree might be incorrectly configured, leading to an unintended increase in the total length of the sort fields.
Solution:
- Review Sort Fields: Check the sort fields defined in your DMEE tree. Ensure that you are only using the necessary fields and that their lengths are appropriate.
- Adjust Field Lengths: If possible, reduce the length of the fields being used for sorting. This may involve changing the data type or the length of the fields in the DMEE configuration.
- Limit the Number of Sort Fields: If you have multiple sort fields, consider reducing the number of fields to stay within the allowed limit.
- Check DMEE Configuration: Review the DMEE configuration for the payment format you are using. Ensure that it is set up correctly and that there are no unnecessary fields included in the sorting process.
- Test Changes: After making adjustments, test the payment file generation again to see if the error persists.
