Message text: Node &1 affected position of child tree nodes
There is at least one node in the Child tree which was created in the
Child tree which is in vicinity of a node, which was moved or created in
the Parent tree. It is recommended to check if the new position of Child
nodes is correct.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
You can switch the left tree from the "Parent tree" to the "Child tree
before synchronization" and compare positions of Child nodes near moved
or created nodes. If the position is not correct, you are not able to
move the Parent nodes, but you can move (Drag & Drop) the Child nodes to
fulfill your requirements.

DMEE690
- Node &1 affected position of child tree nodes ?The SAP error message DMEE690 indicates an issue with the Data Medium Exchange (DMEE) configuration, specifically related to the structure of the DMEE tree. The error message states that a node in the DMEE tree has child nodes that are not positioned correctly according to the defined structure.
Cause:
The error typically arises due to one of the following reasons:
- Incorrect Node Configuration: The child nodes of a specific node are not properly configured or positioned in relation to their parent node.
- Missing or Extra Nodes: There may be missing child nodes that are required for the parent node, or there may be extra child nodes that are not supposed to be there.
- Hierarchy Issues: The hierarchy of nodes may not follow the expected structure defined in the DMEE tree.
Solution:
To resolve the DMEE690 error, you can follow these steps:
Check the DMEE Tree Structure:
- Open the DMEE tree in transaction code DMEE.
- Navigate to the node indicated in the error message (Node &1).
- Review the child nodes and ensure they are correctly positioned and configured.
Validate Node Properties:
- Ensure that the properties of the child nodes are set correctly, including their type, attributes, and any required fields.
- Check if the child nodes are supposed to be mandatory or optional and adjust accordingly.
Adjust Hierarchy:
- If there are extra child nodes, remove them if they are not needed.
- If there are missing child nodes, add them to the tree structure as required.
Test the Configuration:
- After making the necessary adjustments, save the changes and test the DMEE configuration to ensure that the error no longer occurs.
Consult Documentation:
- If you are unsure about the correct structure, refer to SAP documentation or guidelines for DMEE configuration to understand the expected hierarchy and node relationships.
