  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message DLCN005 - Inconsistent datasets between table JITMA and VLPKM ?

The SAP error message DLCN005 indicates that there is an inconsistency between the datasets in the tables JITMA (Just-In-Time Material Availability) and VLPKM (Delivery Processing: Picking). This inconsistency can arise due to various reasons, such as data corruption, incomplete transactions, or issues during data migration or updates.

    Cause:

    1. Data Corruption: There may be corrupted entries in either the JITMA or VLPKM tables.
    2. Incomplete Transactions: If a transaction was not completed properly, it could lead to mismatched records between the two tables.
    3. Custom Developments: Custom programs or enhancements that manipulate data in these tables may not be handling data correctly.
    4. System Upgrades or Migrations: Changes in the system or data migrations can sometimes lead to inconsistencies if not handled properly.

    Solution:

    1. Data Consistency Check: Run a consistency check to identify the specific records that are inconsistent. This can often be done using transaction codes like SE16 or SE11 to view the data in the tables.
    2. Reprocess Transactions: If the inconsistency is due to incomplete transactions, reprocessing those transactions may resolve the issue.
    3. Manual Correction: In some cases, you may need to manually correct the data in one of the tables to ensure consistency. This should be done with caution and ideally in a test environment first.
    4. SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. There may be patches or updates that resolve known issues.
    5. Consult with SAP Support: If the issue persists, it may be necessary to consult with SAP Support for further assistance. They can provide guidance based on the specific details of your system and the error.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SE16 (Data Browser) and SE11 (Data Dictionary) to investigate the tables involved.
    • Backup: Always ensure that you have a backup of your data before making any changes, especially if you are manually correcting entries.
    • Testing: If you are making changes, test them in a development or quality assurance environment before applying them to production.
    • Documentation: Keep documentation of any changes made to resolve the issue for future reference.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the inconsistency between the JITMA and VLPKM tables.
