Message text: Validity window cannot be set as wide as the selection period
You no longer just want to use the <zh>key date</> as the validity
window, but now want to use the whole <zh>selection period</>. However,
you have carried out a parameter value assignment, which only allows
you to use the key date as the validity window.
The key date remains as the validity window.
If you want to use the selection period as the validity window, proceed
as follows:
Leave the <zh>Engineering Workbench</>.
Select your worklist again.
Call up the present overview again.
Select the selection period as the validity window.

CPWB128
- Validity window cannot be set as wide as the selection period ?The SAP error message CPWB128, which states "Validity window cannot be set as wide as the selection period," typically occurs in the context of planning and scheduling within SAP, particularly in the context of Capacity Planning or Production Planning.
Cause:
This error arises when the validity window you are trying to set for a planning object (like a production order, capacity, or resource) exceeds the selection period defined in your planning parameters. The selection period is the timeframe within which the system is allowed to consider data for planning purposes. If you attempt to set a validity window that is longer than this selection period, the system will generate this error.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Adjust the Validity Window: Ensure that the validity window you are trying to set is within the limits of the selection period. You may need to shorten the validity window to fit within the selection period.
Modify the Selection Period: If it is necessary for your planning process to have a wider validity window, consider adjusting the selection period settings in your planning configuration. This can usually be done in the planning parameters or settings within the relevant transaction or configuration area.
Check Planning Parameters: Review the planning parameters in the relevant configuration settings (e.g., in transaction SPRO) to ensure they are set correctly for your planning needs.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on setting validity windows and selection periods, as the exact steps may vary depending on your SAP version and configuration.
Seek Help from SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for assistance, especially if this is a recurring issue.
