The SAP error message CP046 indicates that there is an inconsistency in a task list due to duplicated operation numbers. This typically occurs in the context of production planning and control, where task lists (or routings) are used to define the sequence of operations required to produce a product.

    Cause:

    The error CP046 arises when:

    1. Duplicate Operation Numbers: The task list contains two or more operations with the same operation number. Each operation in a task list should have a unique identifier.

    Solution:

To resolve the CP046 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Identify the Task List: Determine which task list is causing the error. The error message should provide the task list number and the operation numbers involved.

    2. Check for Duplicates:

      • Go to the transaction code CA03 (Display Routing) or CA02 (Change Routing).
      • Enter the task list number and check the operations listed.
      • Look for any duplicate operation numbers.
    3. Correct the Duplicates:

      • If duplicates are found, you will need to either delete the duplicate operation or renumber it to ensure that all operations have unique identifiers.
      • Make sure to save the changes after correcting the duplicates.
    4. Validate the Task List: After making changes, validate the task list to ensure that it is now consistent and does not contain any further errors.

    5. Test the Changes: If applicable, test the task list in a production scenario to ensure that it functions as expected without causing further issues.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as:
      • CA03 - Display Routing
