SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: COOS - Order Split

  • Message number: 067

  • Message text: Split quantity not calculable (Error converting units of measure)

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

An error has occurred in the conversion of the split quantity from its
original unit of measure (&V1&) to the target unit of measure (&V2&).

    System Response

The split quantity cannot be calculated in the target unit of measure (
    &V2&).

    How to fix this error?

Check for the associated material &V3& whether an appropriate
alternative unit of measure has been maintained in the material master
record. If not, supplement the material master by adding the alternativ
unit of measure (&V2&). In doing so, specify the factor for converting
the base UoM into the alternative UoM.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message COOS067 - Split quantity not calculable (Error converting units of measure) ?

The SAP error message COOS067, which states "Split quantity not calculable (Error converting units of measure)," typically occurs in the context of production orders or cost object controlling when there is an issue with the conversion of units of measure (UoM) during the splitting of quantities.

    Causes:

    1. Inconsistent Units of Measure: The units of measure for the components or materials involved in the production order may not be consistent or compatible. For example, if you are trying to split a quantity that is in kilograms into grams without a proper conversion factor defined, this error may occur.

    2. Missing Conversion Factors: The conversion factors between different units of measure may not be defined in the system. If SAP cannot find a valid conversion factor for the units involved, it will throw this error.

    3. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for the material master or the production order may not be set up correctly, leading to issues in quantity calculations.

    4. Data Entry Errors: Manual entry errors in the production order or material master data can lead to inconsistencies in units of measure.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Material Master Data: Verify the units of measure defined in the material master for the components involved. Ensure that the base unit of measure and alternative units of measure are correctly set up.

    2. Define Conversion Factors: If there are missing conversion factors, you can define them in the material master under the "Units of Measure" tab. Ensure that all necessary conversions are available.

    3. Review Production Order Settings: Check the settings in the production order to ensure that the quantities and units of measure are correctly specified. Look for any discrepancies in the order details.

    4. Use the Correct UoM: When entering quantities, ensure that you are using the correct unit of measure that matches the defined units in the material master.

    5. Consult SAP Documentation: If the issue persists, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for further troubleshooting steps specific to your system configuration.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may need to use transaction codes like MM03 (Display Material), CO02 (Change Production Order), or CO03 (Display Production Order) to check and modify the relevant data.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional guidance on handling unit of measure issues.
    • User Exits and BAdIs: If custom logic is involved in the processing of production orders, review any user exits or BAdIs that may affect how quantities and units of measure are handled.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the root cause of the COOS067 error and implement the necessary corrections to resolve it.
