  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message COOS002 - Operation &1 of sequence &2 has already been finally confirmed ?

The SAP error message COOS002 indicates that an operation in a production order sequence has already been finally confirmed. This typically occurs in the context of production order processing within the SAP system, particularly in the Controlling (CO) module, where operations are tracked and confirmed.

    Cause:

    1. Final Confirmation Already Done: The most common cause of this error is that the operation you are trying to confirm has already been marked as finally confirmed in the system. Final confirmation indicates that the operation is complete and cannot be modified or confirmed again.
    2. Incorrect Sequence: You may be trying to confirm an operation that is not the next one in the sequence, or you may be trying to confirm an operation that has already been completed.
    3. User Error: Sometimes, users may mistakenly attempt to confirm an operation without realizing it has already been processed.

    Solution:

    1. Check Confirmation Status: Verify the confirmation status of the operation in the production order. You can do this by navigating to the production order and checking the operations tab to see if the operation has already been confirmed.
    2. Review Sequence: Ensure that you are confirming the operations in the correct sequence. You can only confirm the next operation in line if the previous ones are completed.
    3. Use the Correct Transaction: If you need to make changes or adjustments, ensure you are using the correct transaction codes (e.g., CO11N for confirmation) and that you are following the correct process.
    4. Consult with a Supervisor: If you believe the confirmation should not have been final, consult with a supervisor or someone with the appropriate authority to review the production order and its confirmations.
    5. Reopen the Order: If necessary, and if your organization’s policies allow it, you may need to reopen the order or the specific operation to make further confirmations. This typically requires specific permissions.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CO02 (Change Production Order), CO03 (Display Production Order), and CO11N (Enter Production Order Confirmation).
    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation or help files related to production order confirmations for more detailed guidance.
