COCM026
- Reassign, component & & has a conflict ?The SAP error message COCM026 indicates that there is a conflict when trying to reassign a component in a production order or a similar context. This error typically arises in the context of production planning and control, particularly when dealing with component assignments in a bill of materials (BOM) or production orders.
Cause:
The conflict can occur due to several reasons, including:
- Component Assignment Issues: The component you are trying to reassign may already be assigned to another operation or order, leading to a conflict.
- Stock Availability: The component may not be available in the required quantity, or there may be restrictions on its usage.
- Routing Conflicts: The routing for the production order may not allow for the reassignment of the component due to predefined sequences or dependencies.
- Status of the Order: The production order may be in a status that does not allow for changes, such as being released or already in production.

Solution:
To resolve the COCM026 error, you can take the following steps:
- Check Component Assignment: Verify if the component is already assigned to another operation or order. If so, you may need to unassign it from the other operation first.
- Review Stock Levels: Ensure that there is sufficient stock of the component available for reassignment. If not, consider procuring more stock or using an alternative component.
- Examine Routing: Check the routing for the production order to ensure that the reassignment is permissible. You may need to adjust the routing or the sequence of operations.
- Order Status: Confirm the status of the production order. If it is in a status that does not allow changes, you may need to change the status or create a new order.
- Consult Configuration: If the issue persists, consult with your SAP configuration team to review any settings that may be causing the conflict.
