Message number: 025
Message text: Deleting object &&& results in a conflict
A change master record was used to change an identifying attribute of a
BOM item (for example, material number). This change master record was
released for order change management (OCM). For one of the production
orders affected by these changes, the changes were determined and
checked. It was determined that the components in the production order
that corresponded to the BOM items were to be deleted and a new
component added. The change check resulted in a conflict of the type
"warning" or "error" for the addition request. Since the addition
request is logically related to the deletion request, the addition
request also receives a conflict of the same type to draw attention to
the conflict of the deletion request.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
To maintain consistency in the production order in the case of the
seriousness of conflict "warning" after the original order has been
changed, you should choose identically for both the deletion request
and the addition request. Therefore, either set both requests to
"execute" or both to "do not execute". In the case of the seriousness
of conflict "error", the change requests must be set to "do not
execute".

COCM025
- Deleting object &&& results in a conflict ?The SAP error message COCM025, which states "Deleting object &&& results in a conflict," typically occurs in the context of the SAP Controlling (CO) module, particularly when dealing with cost objects such as cost centers, internal orders, or projects. This error indicates that the system has detected a conflict that prevents the deletion of the specified object.
Cause:
- Dependencies: The object you are trying to delete may have dependencies or relationships with other objects. For example, if a cost center has posted transactions or is linked to other cost objects, the system will not allow its deletion.
- Authorizations: Lack of proper authorizations to delete the object can also trigger this error.
- Status of the Object: The object may be in a status that does not allow deletion (e.g., it may be locked or in use).
- Data Integrity: SAP enforces data integrity rules, and if deleting the object would violate these rules, the system will prevent the action.
Solution:
- Check Dependencies: Review the object for any existing dependencies. You can use transaction codes like KSB1 (for cost centers) or KO03 (for internal orders) to check for posted transactions or linked objects.
- Remove Dependencies: If there are dependencies, you may need to clear or reverse transactions associated with the object before attempting to delete it.
- Change Object Status: Ensure that the object is in a status that allows deletion. If necessary, change the status to a deletable state.
- Authorization Check: Verify that you have the necessary authorizations to delete the object. If not, contact your SAP security administrator.
- Use Transaction Codes: Use appropriate transaction codes to check the status and dependencies of the object. For example:
- KSB1: Display actual line items for cost centers.
- KO03: Display internal orders.
- CJI3: Display project actual line items.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines related to the object type you are trying to delete.
