Message text: &1 &2: &3 does not allow initial target determination values
The determination result of &V3& is compared with the value space. By
default, determination paths treat an initial target determination value
as a missing information. The result is a determination failure.
A comparison with space won't be performed.
If you want to treat the initial value as a value, go to the path
definition of &V3& using transaction CNV_10020_OBJECTS. On the tab
strip"Determination" set the indicator "Allow initial TDetValues"
accordingly. You can do this only for elementary relationships and
converter paths. For single and multiple paths it has to be done for
allof their sub paths.

- &1 &2: &3 does not allow initial target determination values ?The SAP error message CNV_10020771 typically occurs during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or similar tools. This error indicates that the system is unable to determine initial target values for a specific field or object due to certain constraints or settings.
Cause:
The error message can arise from several potential causes:
- Field Configuration: The target field may not be configured to accept initial values. This could be due to settings in the target system that restrict the input of certain values.
- Data Mapping Issues: There may be a mismatch in the data mapping between the source and target systems, leading to the inability to determine valid initial values.
- Missing Master Data: The required master data for the target field may not exist in the target system, preventing the system from determining valid initial values.
- Custom Logic: If there are custom enhancements or logic implemented in the target system, they may be interfering with the initial value determination process.
Solution:
To resolve the error, consider the following steps:
- Check Field Configuration: Review the configuration of the target field in the target system to ensure it allows for initial values. Adjust the settings if necessary.
- Verify Data Mapping: Ensure that the data mapping between the source and target systems is correctly defined. Check for any discrepancies that may lead to the error.
- Ensure Master Data Availability: Confirm that all necessary master data is present in the target system. If any required data is missing, load it into the target system before running the migration again.
- Review Custom Logic: If there are any custom enhancements or logic in the target system, review them to ensure they are not causing the issue. You may need to temporarily disable them to test the migration.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation related to the specific migration or conversion process you are using. There may be additional guidelines or prerequisites that need to be followed.
