- Superior functional location &1 (&2) for &3 (&4) will not be deleted! ?The SAP error message CNV20551585 indicates that there is an issue with deleting a superior functional location in the system. This error typically arises during data migration or when attempting to delete a functional location that has dependent objects or relationships.
Cause:
- Dependent Objects: The superior functional location has dependent objects (like equipment, maintenance plans, etc.) that prevent it from being deleted.
- Hierarchy Constraints: The functional location is part of a hierarchy, and deleting it would violate the structural integrity of that hierarchy.
- Data Migration Issues: If this error occurs during a data migration process, it may be due to incorrect mapping or relationships in the migration data.
Solution:
Check Dependencies: Before attempting to delete the superior functional location, check for any dependent objects. You can do this by:
- Navigating to the functional location in the SAP GUI.
- Checking for any associated equipment, maintenance plans, or other linked objects.
- If there are dependent objects, you will need to delete or reassign them first.
Review Hierarchy: Ensure that the functional location is not part of a hierarchy that would be disrupted by its deletion. If it is, you may need to adjust the hierarchy before proceeding.
Use Transaction Codes: Utilize transaction codes like IL02 (Change Functional Location) or IL03 (Display Functional Location) to review the details of the functional location and its dependencies.
Data Migration Adjustments: If this error occurs during a data migration process, review the migration data to ensure that all relationships and dependencies are correctly defined. You may need to adjust the migration logic to handle these dependencies appropriately.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to functional locations and data migration for additional guidance.
