  • What causes this issue?

The company code merge will produce a target number range which is
filled to a very high degree!

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    System Response

The remaining amount of document numbers in the target number range is
likely to be used up very soon.

    How to fix this error?

There are several possible solutions. With all of them, make sure that
there is no overlap with other existing number ranges for the same
number range object and subobject (and the same to-year).
    The possible solutions are:
Extend the target number range by entering a higher to-number in table
    CNV_20201_NRIV_N.
Move the target number range by changing the from-number and to-number
    in table CNV_20201_NRIV_N.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CNV20201354 - __Target interval size = &1, rel. No. level = &2 ?

The SAP error message CNV20201354, which states "Target interval size = &1, rel. No. level = &2," typically occurs during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or similar tools. This error is related to the configuration of the target intervals for data records being processed.

    Cause:

The error is generally caused by a mismatch or inconsistency in the configuration of the target intervals for the data being migrated. Specifically, it indicates that the size of the target interval (the number of records being processed in a single batch) is not compatible with the relative number level specified. This can happen due to:

    1. Incorrect Configuration: The target interval size may be set too high or too low compared to the expected number of records.
    2. Data Volume: The volume of data being processed exceeds the defined target interval size.
    3. Mapping Issues: There may be issues with how the data is mapped from the source to the target, leading to discrepancies in expected record counts.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings for the target intervals in the migration tool. Ensure that the target interval size is appropriate for the volume of data being processed.

    2. Adjust Target Interval Size: If the target interval size is too large, consider reducing it. Conversely, if it is too small, you may need to increase it, but ensure it aligns with the expected data volume.

    3. Review Data Mapping: Ensure that the data mapping from the source to the target is correctly defined. Check for any discrepancies that might lead to an unexpected number of records.

    4. Test with Smaller Data Sets: If possible, test the migration process with a smaller subset of data to identify if the issue persists. This can help isolate the problem.

    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation related to the specific migration tool you are using for any additional configuration guidelines or limitations.

    6. Seek SAP Support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance. They may provide insights specific to your system configuration or the version of the migration tool you are using.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional troubleshooting steps.
    • Migration Cockpit Documentation: Review the official SAP documentation for the Migration Cockpit or the specific tool you are using for data migration.
    • Community Forums: Engage with SAP community forums or user groups where similar issues may have been discussed, and solutions shared.
