CN378
- Element &1 in network &2 has already been released. Cannot delete ?The SAP error message CN378 indicates that you are trying to delete a network element (such as an activity or a component) that has already been released. In SAP Project System (PS), once a network or its elements are released, they are considered to be in a state where they can no longer be modified or deleted without first reverting their status.
Cause:
The error occurs because:
- The network element (e.g., activity, component) has been released, meaning it is in a status that prevents deletion.
- The system enforces integrity rules to ensure that released elements are not inadvertently deleted, which could lead to inconsistencies in project planning and execution.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:
Check the Status: Verify the status of the network element. You can do this by navigating to the network in the SAP GUI and checking the status in the header or the relevant tab.
Revoke Release: If you need to delete the element, you must first revoke the release status. This can typically be done using the following steps:
- Go to the network in transaction code CN22 (Change Network).
- Select the network element you want to change.
- Use the option to "Set to Not Released" or "Revoke Release" (the exact terminology may vary based on your SAP version).
- Save your changes.
Delete the Element: After revoking the release status, you should be able to delete the network element without encountering the CN378 error.
Check Dependencies: Ensure that there are no dependencies or linked elements that might prevent deletion. If there are, you may need to address those first.
