Message text: Not able to copy subtree with root node & to hierarchy &
You can only copy a subtree into a hierarchy under the following
conditions:
The subtree node that is to be copied can only be copied into the same
level of the target article hierarchy. As a prerequisite, there must be
a superordinate node (parent node) in the target article hierarchy for
the node that is to be copied.
A node of the subtree that is to be copied cannot be placed in the
target article hierarchy outside of the corresponding subtree in the
target hierarchy.
The total path length of the subtree that is to be copied and of the
target hierarchy (from the node that is to be copied to the root node)
must not be deeper than 15 levels.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

CMMD039
- Not able to copy subtree with root node & to hierarchy & ?The SAP error message CMMD039 indicates that there is an issue when trying to copy a subtree in a hierarchy. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP's Master Data Management (MDM) or when dealing with hierarchical data structures in various SAP modules.
Cause:
The error message CMMD039 can be triggered by several factors, including:
Invalid Node Reference: The root node specified for the subtree may not exist or may not be valid in the context of the hierarchy you are trying to copy.
Hierarchy Structure Issues: There may be inconsistencies or issues within the hierarchy structure itself, such as circular references or broken links.
Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary permissions to perform the copy operation on the specified nodes.
Data Integrity Constraints: There may be constraints or rules defined in the system that prevent the copying of certain nodes or subtrees.
Technical Limitations: There could be limitations in the system regarding the size or complexity of the subtree being copied.
Solution:
To resolve the CMMD039 error, you can take the following steps:
Verify Node Existence: Check if the root node you are trying to copy exists in the hierarchy. Ensure that you are using the correct node identifier.
Check Hierarchy Structure: Review the hierarchy for any inconsistencies or issues. Ensure that there are no circular references or broken links.
Review Authorizations: Ensure that the user performing the operation has the necessary authorizations to copy the subtree. You may need to consult with your SAP security team.
Examine Data Integrity Rules: Check if there are any data integrity constraints that might be preventing the copy operation. This may involve reviewing configuration settings or business rules.
Simplify the Subtree: If the subtree is too large or complex, consider breaking it down into smaller parts and copying them individually.
Consult SAP Notes: Look for any relevant SAP Notes or documentation that may address this specific error. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions to common issues.
Debugging: If you have access to technical resources, consider debugging the process to identify the exact point of failure.
