SAP Error Message - Details

  • Schirmnachricht Nummer 081

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    What causes this issue?

The system tried to determine the unit of measure of a characteristic
with a non-standard unit of measure. For this, a reference the
characteristic of the value is made to the characteristic of the
non-standard unit of measure in the mapping table for the ESComXML file.
The entry in the mapping table for the reference must be assigned to
the same attribute of the mapping table.
For attribute &V1& in the section &V2& (higher-level section: &V3&)
there is a reference to characteristic &V4&. However, for attribute &V1&
there is no entry in the mapping table with the characteristic &V4&.

    System Response

    How to fix this error?

INCLUDE NA_SYSADMIN1 OBJECT DOKU ID TX

    Procedure for System Administrators

Check how the mapping table has been filled for attribute &V1& in
section &V2& (higher-level section: &V3&). There must be one entry in
the same attribute in the mapping table for characteristic &V4&.
To be able to fill the mapping table correctly, there must be a
reference to a characteristic for a unit of measurement in a private
method with a name such as FILL_MAP_TABLE_* in the class
CL_EHSS_ESCOMV20_SUB_MAPPER. For this purpose, the components
CL_EHSS_ESCOMV20_SUB_MAPPER and PRIORITY are filled in the
ESEESCS_CHAR_DETAILS structure. A second structure of the same type, and
which has the characteristic entered in the CHARACTERISTIC component
that was entered in the UNIT_CHARACT_REF component of the previous
structure, will be transferred to the attribute MT_MAP_DETAILS of class
CL_EHSS_ESCOMV20_SUB_MAPPER together with the first structure in a cell.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CM_CBESCOM131 - Unit of measure reference does not exist in mapper attribute ?

The SAP error message CM_CBESCOM131 indicates that there is an issue with the unit of measure (UoM) reference in the context of a mapping or data transfer process. This error typically arises when the system cannot find a specified unit of measure in the mapping attributes, which can occur in various scenarios, such as during data import/export, integration processes, or when working with master data.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Unit of Measure: The specified unit of measure does not exist in the system or is not defined in the relevant mapping configuration.
    2. Incorrect Mapping Configuration: The mapping attributes may not be correctly set up, leading to a mismatch between the expected and actual units of measure.
    3. Data Entry Errors: There may be typographical errors in the unit of measure being referenced, such as incorrect spelling or formatting.
    4. Inconsistent Data: The data being processed may contain units of measure that are not recognized by the system.

    Solution:

    1. Check Unit of Measure Configuration:

      • Navigate to the relevant configuration settings in SAP (e.g., transaction codes like CUNI for unit of measure settings).
      • Ensure that the unit of measure you are trying to use is defined and active in the system.
    2. Review Mapping Attributes:

      • Go to the mapping configuration where the error occurred.
      • Verify that the unit of measure is correctly mapped and that it corresponds to the expected values in the source and target systems.
    3. Correct Data Entries:

      • Review the data being processed for any typographical errors in the unit of measure.
      • Ensure that the unit of measure is consistent with the definitions in the system.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the mapping process and unit of measure configurations.
    5. Testing:

      • After making corrections, test the process again to ensure that the error has been resolved.

    Related Information:

    • Unit of Measure (UoM): In SAP, units of measure are used to define how quantities are expressed (e.g., pieces, kilograms, liters). Each UoM must be defined in the system for it to be used in transactions.
    • Mapping Configuration: This refers to the setup that defines how data fields from one system correspond to fields in another system, including how units of measure are handled.
    • SAP Transactions: Familiarize yourself with relevant SAP transactions for managing units of measure and mapping configurations, such as CUNI for unit of measure settings and SPRO for configuration settings.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or refer to SAP Notes for any known issues related to this error message.
