  • What causes this issue?

When creating an InfoSource for classification or configuration data in
the BW system, the key fields of the basic InfoSource that are linked to
key fields of a OLTP basic DataSource are transferred into the
extraction structure. This only occurs if the key fields of this OLTP
basic DataSource have the same names as the key fields of the
    classification DataSource. Klassifizierung-DataSource sind.
For example: a classification DataSource in the OLTP system 1CL_OMAT001
has the same key field as its corresponding basic DataSource (MATNR).
This base DataSource is linked to a basic InfoSource from the BW system
via the key field assignment, for example, MATNR <-> 0MATERIAL. In the
extraction structure of the classification InfoSource to be generated,
the key field 0MATERIAL is transferred. The prerequisite for this is
that the basis InfoSource or basis InfoObject that you entered exists in
the BW system and that it is linked with a basis DataSource from the
OLTP system. This basic DataSource has to correspond with the current
classification or configuration DataSource via key fields of the same
name. If these prerequisites are not fulfilled, the system generates a
proposal for the key fields of the extraction structure. The key fields
proposed by the system can be overwritten later, as needed.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

The basic InfoSource &V1& you specified does not have a link (transfer
structure) to a basic DataSource from the OLTP system. For this reasons,
the program cannot transfer key fields from the structure of the basic
InfoSource. Check your entries and enter the correct basic InfoSource as
    needed. You
can also ignore the message and continue with the transaction. In this
case, the system generates the proposals for the key fields, which you
    can overwrite later as needed.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CLBW_META018 - InfoObject/source & does not have a transfer structure (see long text) ?

The SAP error message CLBW_META018 indicates that a specific InfoObject or source does not have a transfer structure defined. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when you are trying to load data into an InfoObject that is expected to have a transfer structure, but it is missing.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Transfer Structure: The primary cause of this error is that the InfoObject you are trying to use for data transfer does not have an associated transfer structure defined in the system.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: There may be a misconfiguration in the data source or InfoObject settings.
    3. Data Source Issues: The data source from which you are trying to load data may not be properly set up or may not be compatible with the InfoObject.

    Solution:

    1. Define a Transfer Structure:

      • Go to the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1).
      • Navigate to the InfoObject in question.
      • Check if a transfer structure is defined. If not, you will need to create one.
      • To create a transfer structure, you can use the transaction code RSA2 to define the transfer structure for the InfoObject.
    2. Check Data Source Configuration:

      • Ensure that the data source is correctly configured and that it points to the correct InfoObject.
      • Verify that the data source is active and that it has the necessary fields mapped to the InfoObject.
    3. Recheck InfoObject Settings:

      • Ensure that the InfoObject is correctly set up to receive data. Check the attributes and key figures to ensure they are properly defined.
    4. Transport Requests: If you have recently made changes to the InfoObject or data source, ensure that these changes have been transported correctly to the relevant system (e.g., from development to production).

    5. Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about how to create or modify transfer structures, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP BW administrator.
