Message class: CC - ECM: Messages
Message number: 073
Message text: Date cannot be shifted to &
You want to change the valid-from date of a change master.
You cannot do this, because the consistency of at least one change
object (for example, BOM, or routing) is violated or the object(s) are
currently locked.
The following reasons for inconsistency may apply:
A BOM has already been changed using a change number with the same
valid-from date as the selected date &V1&.
A routing is not valid on the selected date &V1&.
The system produces a message log listing the change objects that
prevent a date shift.
If you confirm this message, you can enter a new date in the <LS>Date
shift</> dialog box or cancel the date shift function.
If you cancel the date shift function, you see a pushbutton for the
special message log for the change objects that prevent a date shift.

- Date cannot be shifted to & ?The SAP error message CC073, which states "Date cannot be shifted to &," typically occurs in the context of production planning or scheduling within the SAP system. This error indicates that there is an issue with the date being set for a production order, operation, or scheduling task. The "&" symbol is a placeholder for the specific date that is causing the issue.
Causes:
Date Constraints: The date you are trying to set may violate certain constraints, such as:
- The date is outside the allowed range for the operation or production order.
- The date conflicts with existing scheduling rules or dependencies.
Capacity Issues: If the production resources (machines, labor) are not available on the specified date, the system may prevent shifting the date.
Order Status: The status of the production order may not allow for date changes (e.g., if the order is already confirmed or completed).
Configuration Settings: There may be specific configuration settings in the system that restrict date changes based on business rules.
Solutions:
Check Date Validity: Verify that the date you are trying to set is valid and within the acceptable range for the operation or production order.
Review Resource Availability: Ensure that the necessary resources (machines, labor) are available on the desired date. You may need to adjust the schedule or allocate resources differently.
Change Order Status: If the order is in a status that does not allow for date changes, you may need to change the status of the order (e.g., from "Completed" to "In Process") before making the date adjustment.
Consult Configuration: Review the configuration settings related to scheduling and production planning to ensure that there are no restrictions preventing the date change.
Use Alternative Dates: If the desired date cannot be set, consider using an alternative date that meets all constraints and requirements.
Related Information:
If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a functional consultant who specializes in production planning.
