  • What causes this issue?

    Allowed values cannot be determined for characteristic &V1&. This may be
    due to the following:
    A check table, check function, or foreign key has been assigned to the
    characteristic as its search help but the search help contains an error
    or does not exist.
    The system cannot display the values it has selected because the formats
    defined in the search help do not match the characteristic format.

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Check whether the search help assigned to the characteristic has been
    defined. To do so, check the following settings for the characteristic
    in Customizing for <LS>Process Management</>, activity <LS>Define
    Characteristics for Process Messages</>:
    The entry made for the foreign key on the dialog box for process
    management
    The entries made for the check table or check function on the <LS>Values
    </> tab page
    Check the definition of the search help and make sure that the formats
    used in the search help match the characteristic format.
