Message text: Quantity conversion not possible for price determination
The system tries to calculate a price for the material to be produced.
To do this the <DS:GLOS.production_unit>production unit</> must be
converted to the <DS:GLOS.base_unit_of_measure>base unit of measure</>.
However, the conversion cannot be carried out.
Check the production unit and the base unit of measure in the material
master for the material to be produced. Check in Customizing whether a
conversion factor has been maintained for these units.

C6020
- Quantity conversion not possible for price determination ?The SAP error message C6020, "Quantity conversion not possible for price determination," typically occurs during the price determination process in SAP, particularly when dealing with materials that have different units of measure (UoM) or when there are issues with the configuration of the material master data.
Causes:
Unit of Measure Issues: The error often arises when there is a mismatch between the units of measure used in the material master and the units of measure used in the transaction. For example, if a material is defined in kilograms but the transaction is trying to process it in grams without proper conversion factors.
Missing Conversion Factors: If the conversion factors between different units of measure are not defined in the material master, SAP cannot convert the quantities appropriately.
Incorrect Material Master Data: If the material master data is incomplete or incorrectly configured, it can lead to issues during price determination.
Price Control Settings: The price control settings (standard price or moving average price) may not be set up correctly, leading to issues in price determination.
Batch Management: If batch management is enabled and there are issues with batch-specific data, it can also lead to this error.
Solutions:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master (transaction code MM03) and verify the units of measure and conversion factors.
- Ensure that the base unit of measure is correctly defined and that all necessary alternative units of measure are set up with appropriate conversion factors.
Define Conversion Factors:
- If conversion factors are missing, you can define them in the material master under the "Units of Measure" view.
Review Price Control Settings:
- Check the price control settings in the material master. Ensure that they are set according to your business requirements (standard price vs. moving average price).
Check Batch Management:
- If batch management is enabled, ensure that all necessary batch data is correctly maintained.
Transaction Data:
- Review the transaction data to ensure that the quantities and units of measure being used are correct and consistent with the material master.
Consult SAP Notes:
- Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional guidance.
Related Information:
