Message type: E = Error
Message class: C5 - Master Recipe
Message number: 086
Message text: Product flow has already been defined at phase &1 of the operation for &2
The phases of an operation refer to exactly one
<DS:GLOS.3526C531AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>resource</>. This resource
can only be charged or discharged by one material. However, the
<DS:GLOS.226ECF762F32D411AB370060B03C3B0B>container resource</> cannot
be charged or discharged within one operation.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
To map charging and discharging operations onto the system, you must
model your data in such a way that one producing master recipe charges
the material produced into the container resource and another consuming
master recipe discharges the same material from the same container.

C5086
- Product flow has already been defined at phase &1 of the operation for &2 ?The SAP error message C5086 indicates that there is an issue with the product flow definition in the context of a production order or operation. Specifically, it means that a product flow has already been defined for a particular phase of an operation, and you are attempting to define it again, which is not allowed.
Cause:
- Duplicate Definition: The most common cause of this error is that the product flow for the specified operation and phase has already been defined in the system. This can happen if the user tries to create or modify a product flow that already exists.
- Incorrect Configuration: There may be a configuration issue where the product flow is not set up correctly, leading to conflicts when trying to define it again.
- Data Integrity Issues: There could be inconsistencies in the data, such as multiple entries for the same product flow in the database.
Solution:
- Check Existing Product Flows: Review the existing product flows for the operation and phase specified in the error message. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction in SAP (e.g., CO02 for production orders) and checking the details of the operation.
- Modify Instead of Redefine: If you need to change the product flow, consider modifying the existing entry instead of trying to create a new one. This can often resolve the conflict.
- Delete Duplicate Entries: If you find that there are indeed duplicate entries, you may need to delete the unnecessary ones. Ensure that you have the appropriate authorizations and that you understand the implications of deleting data in SAP.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on how to manage product flows and operations effectively.
- Contact Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide assistance based on your specific configuration and setup.
