Message text: Hierarchy has been adjusted. Start the query again.
Each characteristic value has to be included in a hierarchy with a rest
node. Normally, this is ensured with the data load. However, because
data is not explicitly loaded by virtual or remote InfoCubes,
hierarchies cannot be complete.
In this case, a specification is read that was not yet available in the
respective hierarchy. The system automatically included the missing
characteristic value into the hierarchy. By doing so, the query can
work with the complete hierarchy. However, you have to restart the
query.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Restart the query.

- Hierarchy has been adjusted. Start the query again. ?The SAP error message BRAIN074 indicates that the hierarchy used in a query has been adjusted or changed, and as a result, the query needs to be restarted to reflect these changes. This typically occurs in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when there are modifications to the hierarchy structure that the query is based on.
Cause:
- Hierarchy Changes: The hierarchy used in the query has been modified, which could include changes such as adding or removing nodes, changing the structure, or updating attributes.
- Data Refresh: The data in the InfoProvider may have been refreshed or updated, leading to changes in the hierarchy.
- Concurrent Access: If multiple users are accessing or modifying the hierarchy simultaneously, it can lead to inconsistencies.
Solution:
- Restart the Query: The immediate solution is to restart the query. This will allow the system to load the updated hierarchy.
- Check Hierarchy Changes: If you have access, review the changes made to the hierarchy to understand what has been adjusted. This can help in troubleshooting if the issue persists.
- Refresh Data: If the hierarchy changes are related to data updates, ensure that the data is fully refreshed and that all relevant InfoProviders are updated.
- Consult with Admin: If you are not the one making changes, consult with your SAP BW administrator or the person responsible for managing hierarchies to understand the changes made.
- Check for Locks: Ensure that there are no locks on the hierarchy that could be causing the issue. Sometimes, locks can prevent the query from accessing the latest hierarchy.
