  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message BOS03006 - Descr. for structure &1 does not exist in logon language &2 ?

The SAP error message BOS03006 indicates that there is a missing description for a specific structure in the logon language of the user. This typically occurs when the system is trying to display a description for a structure (like a table or a data element) in a language that does not have the corresponding text available.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Language Translations: The description for the specified structure is not maintained in the logon language of the user. This can happen if the structure was created or modified without providing translations for all languages.
    2. Language Settings: The user’s logon language may not be supported for the specific structure or may not have been properly configured.
    3. Transport Issues: If the structure was transported from one system to another, the translations may not have been included in the transport request.

    Solution:

    1. Maintain Translations:

      • Go to the transaction code SE11 (Data Dictionary).
      • Enter the name of the structure that is causing the error.
      • Check if the description exists in the required logon language. If not, you can add the missing translations.
      • Use transaction SE63 to maintain translations for various objects in SAP.
    2. Check User Settings:

      • Ensure that the user’s logon language is set correctly. You can check this in the user profile settings (transaction SU01).
    3. Transport Check:

      • If the structure was recently transported, verify that the transport request included the necessary language translations. If not, you may need to create a new transport request that includes the translations.
    4. Fallback Language:

      • If translations are not available in the logon language, SAP may fall back to a default language (usually English). Ensure that the default language has the necessary descriptions.
