  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AY092 - &2: There are too many AuCs ?

The SAP error message AY092 with the description "There are too many AuCs" typically occurs when the system encounters a limit on the number of Asset Under Construction (AuC) objects that can be associated with a particular project or investment measure. This limit is often set to ensure system performance and manageability.

    Cause:

    1. Exceeding System Limits: The error usually arises when the number of AuCs linked to a project exceeds the predefined limit set in the system configuration.
    2. Configuration Settings: The limit for AuCs can be defined in the system settings, and if your project has a large number of AuCs, it may surpass this limit.

    Solution:

    1. Review Configuration Settings: Check the configuration settings in the SAP system to determine the maximum number of AuCs allowed for a project. This can typically be found in the Asset Accounting (FI-AA) configuration.
    2. Reduce AuCs: If possible, consolidate or reduce the number of AuCs associated with the project. This may involve:
      • Merging similar AuCs.
      • Completing or capitalizing AuCs that are no longer needed.
      • Deleting AuCs that are not required.
    3. Increase Limits: If the business process requires a higher number of AuCs, consider discussing with your SAP Basis or configuration team about increasing the limit in the system settings.
    4. Data Archiving: Implement data archiving strategies to manage the number of AuCs effectively. This can help in keeping the system performance optimal and within limits.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to Asset Accounting for any specific guidelines or recommendations regarding AuC limits.
