  • What causes this issue?

You attempted to execute a function for a particular sub-list (basic
list, statistic or ranked list). To do this, you have to place the
cursor on the desired sub-list. The current cursor position does not
permit identification of any statistic or ranked list. It either refers
to a sub-list which you cannot access with the function you chose, or
it points to the totals line of a statistic.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Place the cursor on a line of the desired sub-list, but avoid blank
lines, header lines and, in the case of statistics, totals lines.
Check that the function is valid for the sub-list, since some functions
cannot be used in basic lists where the lines do not all have the same
    structure (i.e. multiple line lists).
