  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AC199 - Closed fiscal year does not agree with legacy data transfer date ?

The SAP error message AC199, which states "Closed fiscal year does not agree with legacy data transfer date," typically occurs during the process of transferring legacy data into the SAP system, particularly in the context of asset accounting. This error indicates that the fiscal year you are trying to use for the data transfer is closed, and therefore, the system does not allow any postings or changes to be made for that period.

    Cause:

    1. Closed Fiscal Year: The fiscal year you are attempting to use for the legacy data transfer has been closed in the system. This means that no further transactions can be posted to that year.
    2. Incorrect Transfer Date: The date you are using for the legacy data transfer does not align with an open fiscal year in the SAP system.
    3. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the asset accounting module that restrict postings to closed fiscal years.

    Solution:

    1. Check Fiscal Year Status: Verify the status of the fiscal year in question. You can do this by navigating to the relevant configuration settings in SAP (Transaction Code: OB52) to see which periods are open or closed.
    2. Adjust Transfer Date: If the fiscal year is closed, you will need to adjust the legacy data transfer date to a period that is open. This may involve changing the date in your legacy data transfer file or adjusting the posting date in the transaction.
    3. Open the Fiscal Year Temporarily: If necessary, you can temporarily open the closed fiscal year for the purpose of the data transfer. However, this should be done with caution and typically requires appropriate authorization. After the transfer, you can close the fiscal year again.
    4. Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific guidelines on handling legacy data transfers and fiscal year settings.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:
