What causes this issue?

The external settlement of a heating system is sent to the system when
you enter a settlement company in the master data screen. You must also
fill the fields for the settlement of the heating system. If the
settlement is not external (that is, no settlement company was entered
in the master data screen), the fields for the settlement unit of the
heating system must remain empty.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

If the heating system is settled externally, fill in a service charge
key and a recipient key. (see master data: a settlement company has
been entered)
