  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message 5K150 - Another ROE is already being processed for this employee in Run ID &1 ?

The SAP error message 5K150, which states "Another ROE is already being processed for this employee in Run ID &1," typically occurs in the context of processing Records of Employment (ROE) in the SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) module. This error indicates that there is already an ongoing process for generating an ROE for the specified employee, which prevents the system from processing a new ROE for that employee until the current process is completed.

    Cause:

    1. Concurrent Processing: The most common cause of this error is that there is another ROE being processed for the same employee. This could happen if:

      • A previous ROE submission is still in progress.
      • There is a system or user error that has left a previous ROE in a locked state.
      • Multiple users are attempting to process ROEs for the same employee simultaneously.
    2. System Lock: The system may have a lock on the employee's record due to a previous transaction that has not been completed or has encountered an error.

    Solution:

    1. Check Current Processes:

      • Verify if there is an existing ROE process for the employee. You can do this by checking the relevant transaction logs or the status of the ROE processing in the system.
      • Use transaction codes like PA20 (Display HR Master Data) or PA30 (Maintain HR Master Data) to check the employee's records.
    2. Wait for Completion: If another ROE is indeed being processed, you may need to wait until that process is completed. You can monitor the status of the processing job.

    3. Cancel or Complete Previous ROE: If you find that a previous ROE is stuck or has failed:

      • Attempt to complete or cancel the previous ROE process if possible.
      • If the process is stuck, you may need to contact your SAP Basis team to help release any locks or resolve any issues with the job.
    4. Check for User Errors: Ensure that no other users are trying to process ROEs for the same employee at the same time. Establish a protocol to avoid concurrent processing.

    5. System Logs: Review system logs for any errors or warnings that might provide additional context about why the ROE is locked.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as:
      • SARA: Archive Administration
      • SM37: Job Monitoring
      • PA20/PA30: HR Master Data Display/Maintenance
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to ROE processing.
    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation or user manuals related to the ROE process for additional troubleshooting steps.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be necessary to escalate the matter to your SAP support team or consult with SAP support for further assistance.
